SpUD Vote Starts January 14th

The Meadow Lakes Elementary School has been closed due weather conditions, consequently the Meadow Lakes Community Council's meeting has been cancelled for this evening.

It was voted to hold a second meeting during the month of January at the December meeting of the Council. The extra meeting will allow the voting to continue on the SpUD. It is expected to take a minimum of two meetings to complete the required voting. Read more

Well, this is the month that the residents of Meadow Lakes start and possibly finish the voting required at the community level to adopt the Meadow Lakes SpUD. You must be a qualified member of the Meadow Lakes Community Council; the entity recognized by the Mat-Su Borough to vote at this level. Upon it's adoption it will then pass on to the Mat-Su Borough Planning Board and from there to the Mat-Su Assembly for additional public input and adoption.Read more

Well the holidays are over and the tree is stuffed back in the box and all those decorations are put away for the year. Now is the time to clean out that deep freeze of those left over berries. You remember...... the ones that you climbed that mountain for and got down on your hands and knees to pick last year. This recipe is especially good when using wild blueberries; they give it that extra bit of flavor. It is a basic recipe that can be used for any other berries that you like to use for pie fillings. In an attempt to determine how and what is important to the Community of Meadow Lakes, we have designed a poll/survey around one that was taken by the Borough in 2003. One would guess that many things have changed since that time, but have they really? So, what we have here, is an unofficial attempt to determine what changes may have occurred over the past five years or so.Read more
