Next spring Meadow Lakes will have tenants living in our first senior housing units. Construction is underway on the eight unit building at the end of Kim Drive here in Meadow Lakes. Progress is seen every day as the building takes shape. The roof is on and the units closed in.

A Master Plan was designed which includes a community center, athletic fields, trails, and the senior housing units.  Senior Housing is one of the visions listed in the Comprehensive Plan approved by the residents of Meadow Lakes and then adopted by the Matanuska Susitna Borough Assembly several years ago. With that vision in mind, the Meadow Lakes Community Council, Inc. worked to obtain a grant and a construction loan to build the housing.Read more

First a bit of history....how did the Meadow Lakes Community Council come to be?

This picture of Marty Fine and his daughter Leslie are part of the reason.  They along with numerous other residents spent many hours along the dusty road, (Pittman-Schrock), getting signatures so that it might be reconfigured and paved.  They turned those signatures over to the powers that be, only to have Schrock made over & Pittman left in it's same condition.  That was the start....Read more
