Our Temps Are Rising
Yea, it hit 40 degrees today…Dare we hope? Maybe, but I’ll hope more if the foot of snow in my yard would melt. At least it is still white and pretty.
Hopefully the ash from Mt Redoubt will continue to go north. It does make great fertilizer. My raspberries loved it last time.
The only green I’ve seen is in people’s houses, where the beautiful little green things are sprouting. I mean plants, of course. This is about the last month to start things inside if you want flowers or veggies this summer. Really try to get them started by the 15th of April.
Or you can do as I’m going to do this year, buy them at the nurseries or plant sales. This is the first year I’ve not planted anything, it’s just been that kind of a winter. I miss doing it too. Next year!!!
We had the 2nd meeting of the Meadow Lakes Blooomers Garden Club this morning. This is the 23rd. Our meetings are the 4th Monday of the month. 10:30 A.M. We go out to lunch after the meeting. The next meeting will be the 27th of April. It will be at Annie Bendicts house on Blodgett Lake.
Annie has come up with a really cute logo for our club. Our gentleman member Is going to build us some signs to advertise our plant sale, which is
Going to be held on June 7th.
We have a diverse group with a lot of knowledge, such as grafting fruit trees, mushrooms, and when and how to prune trees. We welcome everyone
to come join our little group and contribute to our knowledge. We are very informal and just have a nice time with nice people.
Happy planting.
